Washing Your Bras: The Perpetual Dilemma

The most frequent question asked in the shop? “How often should I wash a bra, and how should I wash it?” We believe bras should be washed according to how much you wear them. Our rule of thumb is up to four “gentle wears” (no sweating or excessive activity) before sending your bra to the laundry room. If you wear it once a week, wash it once a month. If you wear it everyday, try to wash it at least once every week or so. Try not to wear the same bra more than two days in a row-it’s important to let your overworked bras take a rest and regain their elasticity.

Hand wash your lingerie ladies! Hand washing will give your bras a longer life and also not wear the elastic out as quick as a machine will. Our favorite lingerie wash is a no rinse delicate wash called Eucalan. It’s a whole new spin on laundry for lingerie!

Step One:
Fill your basin or tub with lukewarm water.

Step Two:
Add 1 tsp. of Eucalan per 1 gallon of water.

Step Three:
Squeeze article gently.

Step Four:
Let article soak for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Step Five:
No need to rinse! Just hang or lay flat to dry.
